We just proudly donated $3300 to Oxfam Australia, and $770 to the Nepean Area Disabilities Organisation (NADO).
OXFAM AUSTRALIA CD PROJECT
For the second year in a row, we have teamed up with a collective of Defqon.1 artists and Oxfam Australia to release a limited edition Defqon.1 CD Album. The CD was made available as a limited hardcopy edition and all copies are signed by Anthem creators Frontliner & Dillytek. Up-to-date, CD sales raised $3300 profit, which has been donated to Oxfam Australia. You can still score your copy of the CD via the Q-dance Store.
NEPEAN AREA DISABILITIES ORGANISATION (NADO)
Coming forth from Defqon.1 Festival guestlist donations, Q-dance also contributed $770 to the Nepean Area Disabilities Organisation (NADO), which is a community-based charity that supports people with disabilities, their families and carers in the Nepean region, including the Hawkesbury, Blue Mountains, Penrith suburbs and surrounding areas. Late on Saturday night, after the Defqon.1 music festival had finished, an overnight camper, Nigel Pauljevic was reported ill by his friends. He was immediately treated by paramedics & NSW Ambulance Service, before being transported to hospital.
At present, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Everyone on our team is deeply shocked and affected by this tragic event.
Until the NSW Police investigation is completed and respecting the privacy of the family, we can not make any further statements. We are working closely with the NSW Police and authorities and giving them our full support in their investigations.
Thought Defqon.1 couldn’t possibly be any more insanely awesome? Think again. The Weekend Warrior camping experience will take things to the next level in 2015, with the campsite connecting directly to Defqon.1 Island via a bridge that stretches 160 meters across the lake, granting campers access to the campsite for the entire weekend. That’s right, you will now be able to stretch out your party experience from the moment you arrive on Friday morning, all the way till when you leave on Saturday night or on the Sunday (choice is yours).
In addition to spectacular views of the Blue Mountains, campers will also be offered an exclusive musical experience over the weekend. The unparalleled atmosphere of The Gathering will take over the main Camping stage on Friday night, while on Saturday it will transform into the Gold stage with a Save The Rave theme, to deliver a fix of early rave classics.
Weekend Warriors eat your heart out! This September, we’ll be taking it to the next level, with our most comprehensive line-up yet. For all the thrill seekers uniting under the Defqon.1 flag, it simply doesn’t get any better than this.
We’ve listened to your requests, and this year we’re opening the gates to the Defqon.1 campsite at 11am on Friday the 18th of September. The Defqon.1 campsite is moving to a larger, previously unexplored area of the epic Regatta Centre that boasts spectacular views of the Blue Mountains.
A bridge spanning more than 160m across the water will link the campsite to the Defqon.1 Island, with campers granted All Weekend Camping Access. And with the campground expanding, we’ve made sure that there’s enough room for you to pitch your tent and set up a marquee to sit around with friends. Don’t forget your camping chair!
